In Okinawa City, a city deeply connected to the Jūyōryū school of Ryukyuan dance, we will be hosting a recital by Jūyōryū master Megumi Maeda. Seven pieces will be performed, ranging from classical works from the Ryukyu Kingdom era to original compositions. We will deliver a performance that embodies the ideal of Jūyōryū, a Ryukyuan dance style characterized by naturalness and movement within stillness. In addition, this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Nerome Fusako (now Shida Fusako) Dance Institute in Goya, Koza City in 1956. To commemorate this milestone, we will be presenting a special program as a token of our gratitude to the people of Okinawa City. Please enjoy the beautiful world of Ryukyuan dance and the youthful spirit of Megumi Maeda, one of the successors of the Jūyōryū school.<br /><br />

Celebrating the 130th anniversary of Kenji Miyazawa&#39;s birth, there&#39;s more to his famous "Night on the Galactic Railroad." This production reinterprets Miyazawa&#39;s depiction of that night from the perspectives of three characters—Giovanni, Campanella, and Zanelli—and tells the story&#39;s continuation. Yoshihiro Fujita adds a new, original story to this alternative "Night on the Galactic Railroad." Dance × Physical Expression × Music! A non-verbal dance drama (silent play) × storyteller—entertainment for all generations!
