Approximately 1300 years ago, in the capital city of Nara, eight statues were brought into existence by order of Empress Kōmyōshi. These eight statues—Gobujō, Shakara, Kutabanda, Gandharva, Ashura, Garuda, Kinnara, and Bibakara—still remain at Kōfuku-ji Temple today. They stand quietly, and somehow with a sense of loneliness. Their origins are shrouded in mystery—a new musical that depicts, from a unique perspective, the life of the nameless sculptor who lay behind the creation of the Ashura statue.

This is a recital by students of RESTA MUSIC. Many of the students have never touched a bass guitar before, but they have practiced diligently every day and will deliver a performance for everyone.
