"Izutsu" is the story of the first love of Ariwara no Narihira, a rare and handsome nobleman. Based on the 23rd section of the Tales of Ise, a bittersweet story of pure love, "Izutsu" was written by Zeami, who praised it as having "the finest flowers," and it is said to be the greatest masterpiece of the wig-wearing genre.<br />
