Call for Submitters and Participants for the 2026 Kumamoto Nichinichi Shimbun Tanka Competition! The submission method will change this year! We will be hosting the 2026 Kumamoto Nichinichi Shimbun Tanka Competition, welcoming Mr. Takeshi Kuroiwa (Representative of the Japan Tanka Poets Club, Chief Editor and Selection Committee Member of "Kokoro no Hana"). The event will include a commemorative lecture, recitation, and critiques. We look forward to many submissions and participation.

At the annual "Kanten Yose" (agar-agar storytelling show) at the Chino Civic Center, we are pleased to welcome back Shunputei Shota, who was so popular last year, to once again bring laughter to the local community.

A masterpiece of Japanese horror kyogen is revived anew by the up-and-coming female impersonator actor, Yuki Hayashi! Kanjuro Fujima is in charge of the terrifying yet beautiful and alluring new direction, presenting a powerful stage performance that explores the dark side of human nature and showcases the captivating allure of theatrical arts!

Approximately 1300 years ago, in the capital city of Nara, eight statues were brought into existence by order of Empress Kōmyōshi. These eight statues—Gobujō, Shakara, Kutabanda, Gandharva, Ashura, Garuda, Kinnara, and Bibakara—still remain at Kōfuku-ji Temple today. They stand quietly, and somehow with a sense of loneliness. Their origins are shrouded in mystery—a new musical that depicts, from a unique perspective, the life of the nameless sculptor who lay behind the creation of the Ashura statue.

This is a recital by students of RESTA MUSIC. Many of the students have never touched a bass guitar before, but they have practiced diligently every day and will deliver a performance for everyone. Please enjoy the powerful sound that only a live music venue can offer. Also, Naoya, the instructor, will be launching his solo project "AshenCrow" on this day.
