At the annual "Kanten Yose" (agar-agar storytelling show) at the Chino Civic Center, we are pleased to welcome back Shunputei Shota, who was so popular last year, to once again bring laughter to the local community.

Six up-and-coming rakugo storytellers will compete in a heated battle of storytelling skills. The judges will be the audience! Your vote could change the fate of a rakugo storyteller. Look forward to the moment a new star is born! Past grand prize winners include Hayashiya Taihei (3rd), Katsura Bunji (7th), Kokontei Kikunojo (8th), Yanagiya Sansan (9th), and Shunputei Ichinosuke (19th), all of whom are currently very popular storytellers. With a history of over 30 years, this is a gateway for young rakugo storytellers and is considered one of the "three major young rakugo storyteller competitions," alongside the "Sagamihara Young Rakugo Storyteller Championship" and the "NHK Newcomer Rakugo Grand Prize."

This is the second charity concert following "Nella Fantasia," a charity concert organized by Concertbouquet in May 2023. A portion of the proceeds from this concert will be donated to the "Sukoyakasa Yutakasa no Mirai Kenkyujo" (commonly known as P-ALS), a general incorporated foundation that works to support patients with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) and their families.
