The allure of the Noh masterpiece "Dojoji" lies in the overwhelming tension and power that arises from the transition from stillness to movement. The highlight of the first half is the "bell entry" scene, where the shirabyōshi (female dancer) steps in a frenetic rhythm and leaps into the bell. The dramatic shift from there to the second half, where the demoness reappears revealing her true form, captivates the audience. It is a clash between the obsessive passion of a woman driven mad by her desires and the prayers of a monk trying to calm her. This masterpiece, which beautifully yet terrifyingly depicts the karma of humanity, is truly the essence of Noh theater.

Based on the 23rd section of the Tales of Ise, a bittersweet story of pure love, "Izutsu" was written by Zeami, who praised it as having "the finest flowers," and it is said to be the greatest masterpiece of the wig-wearing genre.<br />
