POINT
Lafcadio Hearn (1850-1904) lived in Kumamoto for three years as an English teacher at the Fifth Higher School (now Kumamoto University). He supported his family in Kumamoto and his eldest son was born there. He also wrote his first book about Japan, "Unknown Faces of Japan," in Kumamoto. Many of his works, including "A Summer Day's Dream" and "At the Station," are set in Kumamoto. This exhibition will introduce the story of Yakumo, Setsu, and their family through materials related to Yakumo and Setsu, as well as mementos.

Gruppo Musicini Okinawa Tour 2026 First Night Performance: "Flute and String Melodies" on Wednesday, March 18 Second Night Performance: "Songs and Orchestra - A Journey to Germany and France" on Saturday, March 21 @Ryukyu Shimpo Hall We will perform works by six different composers over the two performances. We will present a wide range of music, from chamber music and suites to songs and orchestral pieces.
