Kubo Osamu is a paper cutting artist who captures and depicts the fleeting beauty of the natural world, such as Japan's seasonal scenery and ingredients. After experiencing the disaster of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake and traveling around all 47 prefectures, Kubo witnessed how culture, landscapes, and people's lives were lost due to natural disasters, and began a project to preserve Japan's original landscapes through paper cutting. His activities are not limited to Japan; since being appointed a cultural ambassador by the Agency for Cultural Affairs in 2009, he has held exhibitions and workshops in over 16 countries, introducing Japanese culture to people all over the world through paper cutting. A wide range of approximately 150 works will be on display, ranging from Kubo Osamu's early works, in which he continues to depict beautiful, unspoiled Japanese landscapes and share them with the world and the future, to new works created specifically for this exhibition, including "Shiriyazaki Lighthouse and Kandachi Horses" and "Spring in Full Bloom (Hirosaki Castle)."
