第46回目のテーマは「Bach is Cool　バッハと涼もう」

「音楽の父」と呼ばれ、第1回目の音楽祭のテーマにも取り上げられたヨハン・セバスティアン・バッハ（1685-1750）。今年の夏は、原点回帰の思いも含め、バッハはもちろん、同時代作曲家、彼から影響を受けた後世の音楽家が生み出した作品に様々な切り口から光を当ててゆきます。ライプツィヒをはじめとするドイツ東部の限られた地域で活躍したバッハが、なぜここまで西洋音楽史に決定的な役割を果たすようになったのでしょうか。それは、バッハ自身が同時代に活躍していた音楽家から多くを学び取っただけでなく、彼の音楽作品が、とてつもない広さと深さを具えていたからに他なりません。また、だからこそバッハの作品は、約300年後を生きている私たちの心も捉え続けているのです。

猛暑、酷暑と予想されている今年の夏を元気に乗り越えるため、草津の涼しい高原気候と癒しの温泉とともに、バッハのCoolな音楽を浴びるのはいかがでしょうか。

The theme for the 46th festival is "Bach is Cool: Cool off with Bach"

Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750), known as the "father of music," was also the theme of the first music festival. This summer, with a sense of returning to our roots, we will shine a light on the works of Bach, as well as those of his contemporary composers and later musicians influenced by him, from various perspectives. Why did Bach, who was active in a limited area of eastern Germany, including Leipzig, come to play such a decisive role in the history of Western music? It is because Bach himself learned a great deal from the musicians active in his time, and because his musical works possessed tremendous breadth and depth. And that is why Bach's works continue to capture the hearts of us who live nearly 300 years later.

To get through this summer, which is predicted to be extremely hot, why not immerse yourself in the cool music of Bach along with the cool highland climate and healing hot springs of Kusatsu?
