概要

講談・浪曲・落語・文楽・能楽・茶道・華道の7ジャンル9人の上方伝統文化芸能ユニット「霜乃会」による、年1回の本公演。
今年は、国立劇場の建て替え問題などで、逆境にある文楽・浄瑠璃の世界をテーマにして、霜乃会メンバーがそれぞれの芸を関連させて披露します。

overview

This is a yearly performance by Shimonokai, a nine-person Kamigata traditional cultural and performing arts unit that covers seven genres: storytelling, rokyoku, rakugo, Bunraku, Noh, tea ceremony, and flower arrangement.
This year, the members of Shimonokai will perform their respective arts in a related style, with the theme of the world of Bunraku and Joruri, which is currently facing adversity due to the issue of rebuilding the National Theater.

霜乃会本公演は、 浄瑠璃の魅力を今一度発見せんがため――。
芸能芸能の間にては、文楽研修制度の講師でもあります裏千家業躰・松井宗豊による進行にて解説を行いながら、 まずは華道にて、浄瑠璃の語源たる薬師如来の東方浄土を再現し、 講談にて歴史を語り、落語にて明治の隆盛の姿を描き、 中入りの後には、浄瑠璃の子、浄瑠璃の親ともいうべき浪曲、能楽を披露し、 最後に、平家物語の素浄瑠璃をご覧に入れます。

【あらすじ】
室町時代、琵琶の名人上手によって語られる平家物語。 
中でも牛若丸若き頃の恋の話。 牛若丸の悲恋の相手となる姫の名は、両親が子宝祈願、やっとの思いで授かり、薬師如来の浄土、東方浄瑠璃世界から名付けられた浄瑠璃姫。
安土・桃山時代ともなれば、この浄瑠璃姫の物語を数多の妙手が綴り直し、 世間はこの物語に感嘆し、いつしか節をつけて語る形そのものを“浄瑠璃”と呼ぶようになる。

講談：旭堂南龍　『浄瑠璃物語』浄瑠璃の歴史を語る
落語：桂紋四郎　『寝床』浄瑠璃の明治隆盛期を描く演目

浪曲：京山幸太　『安珍清姫』浄瑠璃が元となった演目
文楽：竹本碩太夫・鶴澤燕二郎　『義経千本桜』二段目・知盛幽霊の段

演目ごとに、文楽研修所講師でもある裏千家業躰・松井宗豊の進行にて各演者による解説あり。

The purpose of the Shimonokai performance is to rediscover the charm of Joruri once again.
During the performances, Matsui Munetaka, a master of the Urasenke school and an instructor for the Bunraku training program, will provide commentary. First, he will recreate the Eastern Pure Land of Yakushi Nyorai, the origin of the word Joruri, through flower arranging, then talk about history through storytelling, and portray the prosperity of the Meiji period through rakugo. After the intermission, he will perform rakugo and Noh, which can be said to be the children and parents of Joruri, and finally, he will present a simple Joruri performance of the Tale of the Heike.

【Synopsis】
The Tale of the Heike is told by a master biwa player during the Muromachi period.  
The story in particular is about Ushiwakamaru's love when he was young. The princess who falls in tragic love with Ushiwakamaru is named Jorurihime after the Pure Land of Medicine Buddha, the Eastern world of Joruri, after her parents prayed for a child and finally received one.
By the Azuchi-Momoyama period, the story of Jorurihime was rewritten by many masters, and the public was so fascinated by the story that before long the form of telling it in a melody came to be called "Joruri".

Ikebana: Ashida Ikkon - expressing the origin of the word Joruri, "The World of Eastern Joruri"
Storytelling: Kyokudou Nanryu - "Joruri Monogatari" talking about the history of Joruri
Rakugo: Katsura Monshiro - "Nebuton" a play depicting the heyday of Joruri in the Meiji period

Noh: Hayashimoto Masahiro and Imamura Tetsuro - "Anchor Submersion" a play that inspired Joruri
Rōkyoku: Kyoyama Kota - "Anchin Kiyohime" a play that inspired Joruri
Bunraku: Takemoto Sekidayu and Tsurusawa Enjiro - "Yoshitsune Senbonzakura" second act and "The Ghost of Tomomori"

Each performer will give an explanation for each performance, guided by Matsui Munetomo, a master of the Urasenke school and instructor at the Bunraku Training Center.
