The locals call this old, cobblestone slope overlooking Nagasaki Port "Oak Tree Slope," named for the ancient oak tree said to be hundreds of years old that stands there. At the Ashiha family home, located halfway up the slope, laughter never ceased. Until that day... On August 9, 1945, the atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki. The oak tree seemed to have died in the blast, but the following year, it sprouted a single leaf, and a magnificent cluster of leaves spread all the way to the Ashiha family's garden, where the story takes place. The story begins in 2000, 55 years after the end of the war. How have the Ashiha sisters, who survived the bombing, faced that day and lived their lives since the war?

A new play written by playwright and psychiatrist Kurumizawa Shin will be directed by Azuma Kenji (playwright, director, and head of Sanshiki Doji). This is the third time the two have teamed up. In this work, Kurumizawa Shin, who is also a practicing psychiatrist, has written a story that incorporates the issues of modern psychiatric care and the three witches from "Macbeth" as nurses. Azuma Kenji, who is renowned for portraying forgotten people who have been tossed about by history, will take on the challenge of directing. The play asks questions such as why people become mentally ill and what we should truly value in life, and aims to empower the audience.

ARTE Y SOLERA is a talented flamenco dance troupe that Japan is proud of around the world. ARTE Y SOLERA collaborated with kabuki actor Nakamura Ichitaro Jo in "Arte, pasion y solera," which was performed in Toledo in 2023 and Madrid in 2024. Building on the success of this critically acclaimed production that fused kabuki and flamenco, the company will present an ambitious work that combines flamenco and kabuki, with Nakamura providing the original script, choreography, and special appearances, and Imai Tsubasa, who has frequently performed with them in the "Golpe" series, making a special appearance.

This groundbreaking performance, co-hosted by the Surakarta Royal Family, Otokojo, and Kartika & Kusumo, will feature a devotional dance called "Srimpi" performed by the royal daughters and a solo dance by Princess Kus Murtiya Wangdangsari, a master of the art of dance. Through this virtuoso performance, the essence of Javanese women's dance will be revealed, giving us a sense of a new breath of fresh air.
