“Hachinohe Enburi” is a folk performing art that represents the Hachinohe region and is designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan.
“Enburi” is a unique dance that prays for a good harvest of the year, and a dancer called Tayu wears a gorgeous eboshi hat in the shape of a horse's head and shakes his head widely.
The dance expresses a series of movements in rice farming, such as seeding and rice planting.
