overview
Tamura Takahiro is the scriptwriter and director for all performances by the Oneor 8 theater company, and has expanded his activities to include writing scripts and directing for external productions, such as works by other theater companies and various production groups, as well as commercial plays produced by Toho.
This is his second original work for Bungakuza after "Renju no Ko."
The play will be directed by Gonohe Marie, who won the Best Director Award at the 30th Yomiuri Theater Awards in 2023 and is now one of the most notable directors in the theater world. This will be his first time directing a Bungakuza theater production.
Please look forward to this first collaboration between these two people who will be inspiring the theater world in the future.
＜Synopsis＞
Riho Shiiba will soon be 40 years old. She has no children, but her husband is kind, both parents are alive and well, and she is doing her job well.
She has had no major complaints about her life, but before her birthday, an indescribable anxiety hits her. She is sexless with her husband, she has to look after her parents, and there is nothing rewarding about her current job. Is my life really okay the way it is...?
40 years old seems like a bigger milestone than coming of age or turning 60. She can somehow see the ceiling of her life.
On the day of her birthday, her husband prioritizes work. Riho has no one to direct her anger at. Then a resident of another dimension appears and invites her to a different world.
Riho accepts the ceiling of her life, and Riho breaks it.
Where will the two Rihos' lives end up after making different choices?
