「春秋座でしか観られない舞台」をテーマに、選りすぐりの演目、出演者で2012年より隔年開催してきた琉球芸能春秋座特別公演。琉球王朝時代の式楽「組踊」、「琉球舞踊」に加え、近年は明治以降に生まれた「沖縄芝居」も取り上げ、時代の変遷とともに脈々とうけつがれる琉球芸能の魅力をお届けしてきました。
8回目を数える2026年度は、琉球舞踊と共に、「沖縄芝居」四大歌劇として知られる『奥山の牡丹』を上演します。身分に隔てられつつも互いに想いあう人と人との情愛に心打たれる名作、多彩な琉球舞踊をぜひご堪能ください。

The Ryukyu Performing Arts Shunjuza Special Performance, held biennially since 2012, features a carefully selected program and performers, under the theme of "A performance that can only be seen at Shunjuza." In addition to the ceremonial music of the Ryukyu Kingdom era, "Kumiodori" and "Ryukyu Dance," the performance has recently also included "Okinawa Theater," which originated after the Meiji era, showcasing the charm of Ryukyu performing arts that have been passed down through generations along with the changing times.
For its eighth year in 2026, the festival will feature Ryukyu dance alongside "Okuyama no Botan," one of the four major operas of Okinawan theater. Please enjoy this masterpiece, which depicts the deep affection between people separated by social class, and the diverse Ryukyu dances.
