overview
The end of the Heian period.
Demons appear, and the capital is shaken.
At the center of this darkness is
the soul of the emperor, known as "Tatari." Why do people become demons?
And how can they be saved? A story of prayer and reunion guided by waka poetry.
The story is set in the late Heian period. As the vengeful spirit of Emperor Sutoku brings about natural disasters and reflects the darkness in people's hearts, Kiso Yoshinaka becomes embroiled in the machinations of the times. Yoshinaka's son Yoshimoto and his retainers, along with Saigyo, who is trying to save Emperor Sutoku's soul, each carry their own emotions that intertwine. This story is a requiem that discerns truth from darkness and finds light for all souls.
