This "Special Performance" offers the opportunity to enjoy works that truly embody the essence of Noh and Kyogen, performed by top-class performers. In October, we present "Yao Kaeshozoku," a unique and grand Kyogen piece that humorously depicts the fearsome Enma, the King of Hell, in the story of a sinner who presents a letter to him. The performance will feature the renowned Nomura Matasaburo family from Nagoya. The Noh performance will feature "Saigyo Sakura Tsue no Kata," a masterpiece that poetically portrays a night of interaction between the monk Saigyo, who left behind many famous poems, and the spirit of an old cherry tree, performed by Yokohama resident and Living National Treasure, Otsubo Kimio.
