Synopsis
Hiroshima, 1948. One day, Mitsue, who works at a library, receives a manju (steamed bun) from a young man who is a patron of the library.
Her father, Takezo, volunteers to be the "love cheerleader" in an effort to make the feelings hidden within the manju come true.
However, Mitsue stubbornly refuses to be happy...
"Otottan, the past three years have been difficult. Please praise me for at least having managed to survive."
A father who wishes happiness for his daughter, and a daughter who lives with a sense of guilt.
A heartwarming yet heartbreaking story of parent and child that is told through the interactions between the two characters.
