エド幕府4代将軍・徳川イエッナが治める時代において、「武断政治」から「文治政治」への転換が進められていた。武士である威光は減退し、教育・法制がエドを続治する転換期。

エドからジパング各地に伝達が飛ぶ。

「甲斐、越後、奥州、尾張、安芸、赤目、他国、そして我がエドより武芸壱番となる者を選出せよ。その8名試合い、勝ち残った国には未来永武士が廃れぬ裏美を約束する。」

The year is 1661 in the Zipangu calendar. Year 25 of Edo.

In the era ruled by Tokugawa Iena, the fourth shogun of the Edo shogunate, a shift from "military rule" to "civilian rule" was underway. The prestige of the samurai was declining, and it was a transitional period in which education and legal systems would continue to govern Edo.

Messages were sent from Edo to all parts of Zipangu.

"Select the best martial artist from Kai, Echigo, Oshu, Owari, Aki, Akame, other provinces, and our Edo. The eight will compete, and the country that survives will be promised the eternal beauty of the samurai."
