花乃公案は観世流シテ方能楽師の浅見慈一、馬野正基、北浪貴裕の3名が主催する能楽公演です。第11回目を迎える今回は、能「朝長（ともなが）」、能「自然居士（じねんこじ）」、そして狂言「茶壺（ちゃつぼ）」を上演します。

「朝長」は平安時代末期におこった平治の乱において自害した源朝長と、彼を弔う縁の人々の祈りの姿を描いた物語です。死後、修羅道に堕ちてしまった朝長でしたが、かつての家臣や偶然に出会った宿主は朝長のことを想い続けます。朝長はそれに感謝し、やがて救われるのでした。

「自然居士」は、能の大成者として知られる観阿弥によって作られた作品です。拐われた少女を助けようとする自然居士は、鎌倉時代に実在した禅僧でもあります。人商人との緊迫感あるやり取りは本作の1番の見どころで、芸を尽くして立ち向かう自然居士の姿は大きな感動を呼ぶことでしょう。

観世流能楽師のなかでも近年、顕著な活躍をみせる役者たちが揃った今夏の注目公演にどうぞご期待ください。

Hano A koan is a Noh performance sponsored by three Kanze school shite Noh performers: Jiichi Asami, Masaki Umano, and Takahiro Kitanami. This year, the 11th time, we will be performing the Noh play ``Tomonaga,'' the Noh play ``Jinenkoji,'' and the Kyogen play ``Chatsubo.''

``Tomonaga'' is a story depicting Minamoto no Tomonaga, who committed suicide during the Heiji War at the end of the Heian period, and the prayers of his relatives who mourned for him. After his death, Tomonaga fell into the path of Shurado, but his former vassals and hosts he happened to meet continue to think of him. Tomonaga was grateful for this and was eventually saved.

``Natural Koji'' is a work created by Kan'ami, who is known as a master of Noh. The natural monk who tries to save the kidnapped girl is also a Zen monk who existed during the Kamakura period. The tense exchanges with the human merchants are the highlight of this work, and the sight of the natural warriors fighting with all their skill is sure to evoke great emotion.

Please look forward to this summer's attention-grabbing performances featuring actors who have shown remarkable success in recent years among the Kanze-ryu Noh actors.
