清経（きよつね）

　かつてこの世の春を謳歌した平家一門も今は源氏に西海へと追われる身となっていた。なかにも行く末に絶望した平清経は九州の柳ケ浦で入水して果てたという。

　都で夫清経の身を案じる妻のもとに清経の家臣淡津三郎が訪れ、夫の死を告げる。突然の訃報に、自分一人を残して自死を選んだ夫を恨み、泣き伏す妻。

　その夜、妻の夢中に清経の霊が現れ、平家滅亡を暗示する神託に絶望し、月下に笛を吹き鳴らして船より身を投げた、自らの最期の有様を語り出す…。

　清経の最期と戦乱によってすれ違う夫婦の情愛をしっとりと描いた世阿弥作の名作修羅能。

　清水の観世音で妻乞いをした主は西門に立つ女を妻にせよとのお告げを受ける。さてお告げ通り西門に女はいたものの、自分の住まいを下の句に詠み込んだ和歌を吟じ、女は消え失せてしまう。肝心の下の句を忘れた主従は通りがかりの者に下の句を詠めと無理難題を言い…。

国栖（くず）

　皇位継承の争いから大友皇子に襲われ、吉野山へと逃れた大海人皇子（浄見原天皇）は山中に住む老夫婦のもとに匿われる。

　そこへ大友皇子の追手が迫り、老夫婦はとっさに裏返した舟の中に皇子を隠す。強気な態度で追手を追い返す老人に皇子は感謝し、その恩に報いることを約束する。

　やがて天女と蔵王権現が来臨してそれぞれ舞を舞い、その威光を表すと皇子の御代を祝福するのだった。

　追手を追い払う老人の迫力、天女の舞と蔵王権現が威光を示す激しい所作が見所の能。

Kiyotsune (Kiyotsune)

The Heike clan, which once enjoyed the spring of this world, was now chased by the Genji clan to the West Sea. It is said that Taira no Kiyotsune, who was in despair at the end of his life, ended up drowning in Yanagigaura, Kyushu.

Kiyotsune's retainer Saburo Awatsu comes to the wife who is worried about her husband's life in the capital and tells her of her husband's death. A wife breaks down in tears at the news of his sudden death, hating her husband for leaving her alone to commit suicide.

That night, Kiyotsune's spirit appeared in his wife's dream, and, despairing of the oracle that foretold the destruction of the Heike clan, he blew a flute under the moon and threw himself from the ship, reminding him of his final moments. Let's talk about the situation...

Zeami's masterpiece Shura Noh is a moving depiction of Kiyotsune's final days and the love of a couple who were separated by the war.

The Lord who begged for a wife at Kanzeon in Shimizu was told to marry the woman standing at the west gate. receive. Now, as predicted, there was a woman at the west gate, but after reading a Japanese poem that described her home in the poem below, she disappeared. The master and servant forget the important haiku below and force a passerby to recite the haiku below...

Kunisu (Kuzu)

Prince Oama (Kuzu) was attacked by Prince Otomo during a dispute over the imperial succession and fled to Mt. Yoshino. Emperor Hara is taken into hiding with an elderly couple living in the mountains.

Prince Otomo's pursuers approach, and the elderly couple hides him in a boat they flip over. The prince is grateful to the old man who repulses his pursuers with a strong attitude, and promises to repay his kindness.

Eventually, the Tennyō and Zao Gongen came and performed dances to express their majesty and bless the prince's reign.

The highlights of this Noh performance include the powerful performance of the old man driving away his pursuers, the dance of the maiden, and the fierce movements of Zao Gongen that demonstrate his majesty.
