Chinese Ship
Zo Keikanin, a man living in Mingzhou in the Tang Dynasty, was captured during a naval dispute between Tang and Japan and served Hakozaki So-and-so, the lord of Hakozaki Bay in Kyushu. Thirteen years passed, and Zo Keikanin married a wife and had two children in Japan. One day, his children, whom he had left behind in his hometown of Tang, came to welcome their father, bearing a treasure as compensation. Hakozaki So-and-so was moved by his children's filial piety and allowed them to return to Japan, but told them to leave their Japanese child behind. Caught between his children, Zo Keikanin tried to commit suicide, but...
Kaminari (Thunder)
A quack doctor from the capital was on his way to the eastern provinces when the sky suddenly clouded over and a thunderclap accompanied a thunderclap. Kaminari, who had apparently missed a cloud and fallen, hit his lower back hard and forced the doctor to treat him. The treatment was rough, but the doctor's treatment was successful and his lower back began to feel better, but Kaminari had no money for treatment...
Kanawa (Iron Ring)
A woman, driven mad by jealousy after being abandoned by her husband, makes a nightly midnight visit to Kifune Shrine. A shrine attendant at Kifune Shrine tells her that if she dons a red robe, paints her face red, places a lit iron ring on her head, and becomes angry, she will become a demon. The woman's appearance immediately changes and she leaves the scene.
Meanwhile, her husband has been having bad dreams lately, so he visits Abe no Seimei, a master of divination. While they are praying, a woman with a terrifying expression appears, intent on taking the lives of the husband and his second wife.
